AAMIR KHAN- is a rare breed in Bollywood, a thinking man’s actor, a
perfect combination of being an actor-star rather than the other way
around. His desire for perfection and habit of questioning the director
on every aspect of his role has seen him being labelled as a ‘difficult
actor’ but what it really shows is his total commitment to his craft. In
fact, if anything Aamir can at times be accused of, it is his
‘over-studying’ and ‘over-analysis’ of his various roles. But there is
no doubt that any film that Aamir Khan is associated with immediately
acquires the image of having a certain sensibility, of having class, of
being a quality product.
- Aamir has acted in two movies as a child actor – Yaadon Ki Baarat (1973) and Madhosh (1974).
- Aamir did not give an interview to any Hindi magazine including Filmfare, Stardust, Cineblitz etc for close to 10 years.
- He almost rejected Ashutosh Gowariker’s Oscar nominated Lagaan. 6 drafts of the film were made, Aamir didn’t like any. He liked the 7th draft so much, that he decided to produce the film himself.
- The actor did not bathe for several days to get into the skin of his character in Ghulam!
- His first Filmfare Best Actor Award was for his performance in Raja Hindustani.
- He waxed his entire body to play a woman in Baazi.
- Aamir actually got his ears pierced for Lagaan.
- Aamir was the first choice to play Shahrukh Khan’s character in Yash Chopra’s Darr.
- Mansoor Khan first came to Aamir to play Shahrukh Khan’s character in Josh. Aamir didn’t find the script too interesting.
- After Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Aamir quit movies and went on to become the state tennis champion for Maharashtra.
- Aamir Khan mostly charges less for the movie and instead he becomes the shareholder of the movie his working on.
- Aamir has turned down Madame Tussaud's offer to immortalize him as a wax statue.
